Stunning Pro Debut for Glenrothes ‘machine’ Connor

Connor Law

Glenrothes Boxing Club fighter Connor Law was described as a ‘machine’ after marking his professional debut with a first round stoppage on Sunday.

Law was up against fellow debutant Aaron Robinson in the Prospect Boxing Show at the Ravenscraig Sports Facility in Motherwell.

The 22-year-old southpaw came out firing, dropping his opponent early in the first round with a crushing
left hand, and as the Fifer continued to dominate the fight, referee Victor Loughlin stopped the fight after Robinson’s corner had thrown the towel in.

Show promoter Paul Graham said: “Connor Law is a machine.

“He’s going places that lad. He’s looking good.

“I know he was disappointed not to get to the Commonwealth Games but the best thing for him is to turn pro.

“He’s one to watch and he’ll get to British title level no problem.”

Glenrothes Boxing Club is buzzing at the moment.

Andrei Pudosov

Andrei Podusov, the club’s super featherweight British masters champion, travelled to Liverpool Echo Arena on Saturday and boxed unbeaten Matt Fagan, who had seven wins and no defeats, and who sold over £10,000 worth of tickets.

The fight was shown on television, on the Box Nation channel, and the Kirkcaldy-based Latvian stood toe-to-toe for six rounds with Fagan, working the head and body with some nice combination punches.

Fagan suffered a cut above the left eye in the third round, and after the doctor allowed the fight to continue, Andrei won on a points decision.

Glenrothes BC head coach Stevie McGuire Snr says it’s “onwards and upwards” for Andrei, who will now box for an international title in the new year.
